Biography

A lifelong resident of Framingham, Kathy and husband Tom raised their family in a Victorian home in Saxonville that they have renovated and lived in for over 35 years.

Kathy is a special educator for the Framingham Public Schools, where she has worked as an Assistant Teacher at Fuller Middle School for over seventeen years. Kathy has led gardening programs at school and elsewhere in the community and has been instrumental in initiating other vocational programs, including a very successful student run cafe. She is also an active member of the Restorative Justice Leadership Team at Fuller.

The family also owns and operates Carby’s Lumber on Hartford St. in Framingham, where Kathy pitches in to help her husband Tom and sons with the family business. In addition to having raised four sons, Kathy and Tom have had the privilege of acting as foster parents to many children in the area for over a decade. With their dedication to work in the community and large extended family in the area, including four grandchildren all of whom live nearby in Framingham, the family’s commitment to Saxonville is undeniable.

Working to preserve and improve the living and working experience of “The Village”, Kathy is honored to serve on the FOS board. She is focusing her efforts on the Village Improvement Committee, Membership Committee and fundraising for the Athenaeum.
