Lynne Damianos
Biography
Originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Lynne earned her Bachelor of Science in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology and moved into her circa 1977 Saxonville home in 1987.
Owner of Damianos Photography & Publishing in the Saxonville Mills, she photographs buildings and interiors, people and artwork for business. Her personal photography includes NatureScapes and BuildingScapes – details of natural subjects and the built environment, which have been exhibited in galleries throughout New England.
An active educator, Lynne creates photography workshops for individuals and companies, and mentors emerging photographers. She is a faculty member of Keefe at Night and Tri-County’s continuing education programs.
She has published two of her own books, “The Bancroft Building and Its People” and “The Saxonville Mills: Three Hundred Years of Industry,” and has published over 50 books for other authors.
Lynne joined FOS after attending the Discover Saxonville Luau on Lake Cochituate. She soon joined the board and took on the role of Co-Editor of the newsletter. Currently, Lynne is Board Chair of atac (Amazing Things Arts Center), a member of the Framingham Historic Commission, and a volunteer with OARS. She is an MetroWest Leadership Academy alum, a former national board member of the American Society of Media Photographers, and past president of the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England. She served as chair of Fountain Street Studios in the Bancroft Building for several of the 17 years that she had her photography studio there and on the steering committee of the MetroWest Visitors Bureau during its first two years.
For fun, Lynne enjoys handbell ringing at First Parish in Framingham, kayaking, hiking, yoga and ice skating.
